Step 1: Create an Account

The first step is effortless. Go to Jasper and start your free 7-day trial!

You can choose to use your Google account or sign up with email. From there, choose a plan and start your free trial!

Step 2: Create New Content

Welcome to the Jasper AI dashboard!

Start by clicking the big blue button on the top left to create new content.

Next, select what type of content you want to make.

• Blank document: Start writing with Jasper from scratch.
• New from template: Write content using Jasper's templates and workflows.
• New blog post: Write an entire blog post instantly with Jasper.
• New art: Use Jasper Art to generate original images to support your content.

Let’s start with a blank document to get a feel for things.

You have two options:

1. Type “/” and tell Jasper what to write.
2. Choose a preset option.

I’ve been dealing with writer’s block lately, so I selected “Write a paragraph about…” followed by “…how great Jasper is.”

Hit “Enter,” and poof! Within seconds, Jasper has written a paragraph based on your command.

Hit “Ctrl+J” for Jasper to continue writing, or select one of the text prompts below the text.

A small “Ask Jasper” button will appear when highlighting the text.

Tell Jasper how you would like him to edit your content by selecting one of the following:

• Improve writing
• Change tone
• Change length
• Repurpose content
• Translate

On the top right of the document, you have four options:

1. Have Jasper rephrase the highlighted text
2. Enable Grammarly for spell checking
3. Check for plagiarism (not for free)
4. Access keyboard shortcuts and tips

 

At the top, you will have four “mode” options:

1. Focus Mode
2. Chat Mode
3. SEO Mode (must be enabled in your account settings)
4. Power Mode

All of these open a window on the left. Let’s try them out!

1. Focus Mode

Focus Mode allows you to add context so Jasper writes better. Add a description, tone of voice, and keywords to include (Note: you can toggle these on or off whenever you want).

2. SEO Mode

In SEO mode, you can use Surfer and Jasper together to write SEO-optimized articles quickly with AI!

3. Chat Mode

With Jasper Chat, you can talk to Jasper as if conversing with a friend. Give Jasper commands and watch him generate real-time responses (it’s basically a ChatGPT alternative).

Select whether you want Jasper to prioritize speed or quality.

I tested the same text prompt using both of these features.

Jasper generated this easy-to-read content in seconds. This option is best for those who need to boost their workflow and produce content quickly.

With the “Quality” option selected, Jasper took longer to generate the content. However, the output is more sophisticated.

When you start typing, you’ll also get the option to enhance your prompt.

The content Jasper produced is excellent! It’s much more detailed and convincing than my original text prompt.

Here’s how to create a brand voice with Jasper!

1) In the dashboard, select “Brand voice.”

2) Select “Add voice.”

3) Choose “Enter a URL” to get Jasper to scan your website to understand your brand’s tone of voice, or select “From text” to submit text reflective of your brand (both methods take seconds).

4) Name your brand voice and save the changes.

Now, whenever I use a workflow or template in Jasper, I can select the brand voice I created as the tone of voice! With this feature, you can maintain a consistent brand voice across all your written content, ensuring uniformity in your messaging.

Campaigns

Jasper has also recently released a “Campaigns” feature to instantly create multiple pieces of content using your brand’s tone of voice.

Here is how to use Campaigns using Jasper!

1) In the dashboard, select “Campaigns.”

2) Start a new campaign.

3) Name your campaign, select the tone of voice, and provide context.

4) Select the content you want Jasper to create for this campaign and hit generate.

5) Within a few seconds, Jasper will have generated the content for this campaign. You can then select these content pieces and tweak them in the editor!

With the Campaigns feature, marketers can generate numerous pieces of content in their brand's tone of voice while saving time.
