Refold AI Raises $6.5M to Eliminate API Integration Complexity for Enterprises

mm

Refold AI has raised $6.5 million in seed funding, led by Eniac Ventures and Tidal Ventures, with participation from Better Capital, Ahead VC, Karman Ventures, Z21, and several notable angels. The capital will be used to grow the engineering team, expand product integrations, and support an already expanding base of enterprise customers. The announcement marks the company’s official emergence from stealth and highlights its mission to make API integrations seamless, autonomous, and free from the costly overhead that plagues modern enterprises.

The Ongoing Challenge of API Integrations

While APIs are the lifeblood of enterprise software ecosystems, connecting them is rarely straightforward. Each system — whether it’s a legacy ERP, a modern SaaS platform, or a bespoke in-house application — speaks its own dialect. Minor changes, such as a renamed field or a new version release, can disrupt entire workflows. These disruptions often go unnoticed until they create operational bottlenecks or data inconsistencies that demand urgent intervention.

The complexity compounds when organizations manage hundreds of APIs across departments and regions. Data schemas can drift over time, authentication methods evolve, and security protocols become stricter. Even small integration requests can spawn lengthy ticket queues, with engineers or external consultants spending days unraveling the problem. For many companies, integration work becomes a permanent background cost, consuming resources that could be focused on innovation rather than maintenance.

Refold’s AI-Driven Solution

Refold AI’s platform approaches integrations from the ground up, replacing the manual upkeep of connections with autonomous agents that can learn, adapt, and self-correct. These agents operate continuously, monitoring the health of integrations, generating and updating code as needed, and adapting to changes in connected systems without human intervention. By embedding intelligence directly into the integration layer, the platform turns one-off fixes into repeatable, productized workflows.

The technology is built on a three-layered architecture. At the core are Workflow Code Agents, which handle the generation, testing, and maintenance of integration logic. Above this sits MCP Chains, a natural language interface allowing business users to describe outcomes and have functional workflows generated automatically. The third layer is an Embedded Integrations Platform designed for SaaS vendors, enabling them to ship native integrations complete with user interface components. Together, these layers allow enterprises to deploy and maintain integrations in days rather than months, without the reliance on external service providers.

A Company Built from Firsthand Experience

Refold AI was founded by the team behind JustDoc, a venture that was acquired by Reliance. The founders encountered the integration problem repeatedly in their own work, particularly within sprawling SAP environments where small system changes could trigger days of downtime and expensive escalation processes. These experiences shaped their belief that integrations, while repetitive and essential, should not require constant human oversight.

Since its inception, the company has quickly gained traction, securing over thirty enterprise customers and processing tens of millions of API calls each month. Early adopters have used Refold to manage complex workflows such as ERP-to-CRM synchronizations, financial automation, and real-time supply chain data flows. These are precisely the kinds of projects that once took months of coordinated effort but can now be delivered in a fraction of the time.

Looking Ahead

With a team split between San Mateo and Bangalore and plans to expand further by the end of the year, Refold is focused on broadening its integration catalog and moving toward zero-friction deployment. As enterprises increasingly adopt AI-native infrastructure, the company aims to become the invisible logic layer that keeps every API connection working silently in the background.

Investors see this as more than just another workflow tool. They view it as a fundamental shift in how enterprises manage connectivity — from a costly, manual process to an autonomous, scalable capability. If Refold succeeds, the tedious reality of API troubleshooting may finally give way to a future where integrations are as invisible as they are reliable.
