In this MindStudio review, I’ll discuss the pros and cons, what it is, who it’s best for, and its key features. Then, I’ll show you how I used MindStudio to build and preview an AI agent.

Step 1: Sign Up for MindStudio

I started by going to app.mindstudio.ai and selecting “Sign Up” from the navigation panel on the left.

Step 2: Create a New Agent

After creating an account, I scrolled down on the “Getting Started” page and selected “Create New Agent.”

Step 3: Explore the Resources

Immediately, I was taken to the MindStudio builder.

It felt a bit overwhelming initially. Luckily, there was a YouTube video to help me build my first AI agent, and plenty of resources in general.

Step 4: Access the Workflow

Next, I closed the tab to access the workflow.

On the left was my “Explorer,” housing the resources required to build AI agents:

• Workflows: The action the AI agent will take when it runs.
• User Inputs: Form fields.
• Functions: Expand the capabilities of MindScript with JavaScript or Python.
• Data Sources: Upload files and references when your AI agent runs.

Step 5: Add a User Input Block

Every workflow begins and ends with “Start” and “End.” I added blocks by selecting the “+” in between to reveal my options:

• Generate Text
• Generate Image
• Display Content
• Generate Asset
• User Input
• Query Data Source
• Run Function
• Scrape URL
• View All Blocks (125+)

I selected “User Input.”

Step 6: Add User Inputs

Next, I added two user inputs by hitting the “+” next to “User Inputs” twice.

Step 7: Fill Out the Information

At the top, you can choose the type (text, image, date, file, etc.) I selected “Upload Image” and filled out the rest of the information.

For the next input, I selected “Long Text” and filled out the rest of the information.

Step 8: Select User Inputs

In my workflow, I selected the “User Input” block and clicked the “+” icon in the configuration panel.

This opened a window where I could choose User Inputs to add. I selected both of them and hit “Add.”

Step 9: View the Preview

Next, I selected “Preview” and “Open Draft Agent” on the top right.

Step 10: Customize the Interface

To customize the interface, I went to the “Optional Settings” and changed the interface from “Native” to “Custom.” From there, I selected “Design Interface.”

To make changes to the interface, I described how I envisioned it looking:

“Make it look modern and minimal. Use blue, black, and white colors. Use bold fonts.”

Step 11: Compile the Agent

Immediately, MindStudio began writing the code and generating a preview. It only took a few minutes, and the preview looked great.

If I wanted to make further changes, I could provide MindStudio with more prompts describing what I want changed. To save the changes, I selected “Compile” on the bottom left.

Overall, MindStudio made it easy to create my first AI agent. While the platform felt a bit overwhelming at first, the resources, drag-and-drop interface, and previews made the process easy.
