Guidewire launched a new platform approach to agentic insurance on October 27, 2026, at its Connections 2026 customer conference in Las Vegas, presenting a portfolio of agents and agentic capabilities spanning underwriting, claims, and the underlying data platform.

Guidewire described the approach as an open, secure, and complete foundation for putting AI to work across the insurance lifecycle, setting out a model for moving insurers from isolated AI experiments to governed agents. The company’s agents run on the same platform as its core applications and work with an insurer’s current data and workflows. According to Guidewire, the platform’s controls enforce boundaries on what agents know, what has already been done, and what they are allowed to do, with consistent security and a clear audit trail that remains current through ongoing updates.

“Insurance is a business of decisions and actions made in context,” said Mike Rosenbaum, Guidewire’s chief executive officer, in the company’s announcement. “By embedding agentic capabilities where insurers already run their core operations, Guidewire gives agents the context and controls they need to work with speed and precision on a proven durable foundation.”

Diego Devalle, Guidewire’s chief product development officer, said the scalability and observability that already support the core platform now support agents as well, which he said allows insurers to put agents to work on live claims and policies and lets developers build on the same open foundation. Guidewire said it will continue to expand the portfolio, giving insurers more ways to put agents to work within the workflows and controls of its platform.

Agentic Underwriting and Claims

The underwriting capabilities are aimed at shortening the path from product concept to market, according to the company. Advanced Product Designer is built to move products from intent to market-ready in days, with impact analysis, gap detection, and explainable recommendations. PricingCenter lets actuaries move pricing models to live rates in days while validating rules, factors, and adjustments, with native integration connecting pricing decisions directly to PolicyCenter policy workflows. The Risk Accumulation App shows concentration and exposure by peril on a map, from a single submission to the whole book, and UnderwritingCenter turns raw submissions into risk profiles, matches risks to portfolio strategy and appetite, and moves quotes directly into PolicyCenter. ProNavigator gives underwriters embedded AI and Guidewire-developed agents for submission summaries, risk insights, and next-best actions.

For claims teams, Guidewire introduced Concierge, which connects claimants with autonomous agents by voice or chat to capture full loss details and deliver decision-ready claims to ClaimCenter. Adjusters using ProNavigator receive answers, suggestions, and next-best actions from an embedded AI assistant and Guidewire-developed agents, and a Workers’ Compensation Solution links claims work with digital tools and AI in what the company described as an effort to help injured workers recover sooner.

Amy Mollin, Guidewire’s vice president of product management, said the company built agents into ClaimCenter, where claims work already happens, to capture the loss, summarize the file, and flag risk, giving adjusters time back for the decisions and conversations that matter most to claimants and injured parties.

Karlyn Carnahan, an executive partner at Celent, said insurers are moving beyond AI experimentation and that connecting agents to core data and processes gives them a practical path to deploy agentic capabilities in production with the controls they need.

Platform, Data, and Developer Tools

The Agentic Framework lets insurers use Guidewire-developed agents or build their own, select the AI model for each task, enforce guardrails, evaluate agent behavior, and monitor costs. Developer Assistants, described as Guidewire-aware, help technical teams update code, workflows, and rules, while DevSpace gives developers preconfigured cloud environments with built-in Guidewire tooling.

On the data side, Guidewire Data Platform brings policy, claims, and billing data together in one place so agents and predictive models draw on the same information. Data Studio and Explore provide curated P&C datasets that the company said are ready to use on day one. Kaleidoscope tunes predictive models to an insurer’s own book and can draw on industry and third-party data to fill gaps; its federated learning trains models where each party’s data resides, so, according to Guidewire, records do not move and privacy is preserved.

Tatjana Lalkovic, chief technology officer at Definity, said Guidewire Developer Assistants bring relevant context directly into the development process, helping her teams move from idea to implementation faster while keeping human judgment at the center.

Guidewire also said it has embedded AI into its professional-services implementation methodology, materially reducing migration and implementation timelines so insurers can put new capabilities in the hands of claims and underwriting teams sooner.

Availability, Prior Releases, and Conference Details

Several features named in the announcement carry an asterisk indicating they are available to Early Access customers only or remain roadmap features, including PricingCenter, the Risk Accumulation App, UnderwritingCenter, DevSpace, and Kaleidoscope. Guidewire also noted that certain release features may not be available in all regions.

Guidewire launched the Agentic Framework on August 3, 2026, in its Qusar release for Guidewire Cloud Platform, alongside Guidewire-built agents including Claim Summarization for ProNavigator, Policy Change for ProNavigator, and Agentic First Notice of Loss, which guides claimants through first notice of loss using conversational AI voice. The Qusar release also introduced Developer and Builder Assistants, which Guidewire said help teams deliver solutions more than 40% faster than generic coding assistants, citing internal productivity benchmarks.

The company is demonstrating the new capabilities at Guidewire Connections 2026, where it said more than 3,000 insurers and partners from 36 countries have gathered for the annual customer conference. According to the announcement, Connections keynote sessions will be livestreamed and available on-demand.
