Spencer West Begins Firmwide Rollout of Harvey’s Legal AI Platform

Harvey announced on November 3, 2026, that international law firm Spencer West has selected its legal AI platform for a firmwide rollout. The deployment covers more than 360 partners across 25 jurisdictions and follows a pilot and an extensive evaluation of the legal AI market.
The rollout is now underway across Spencer West’s international practice. Harvey supports the firm’s lawyers in corporate, litigation and cross-border matters. Uses include researching legal questions, preparing drafts, analyzing contracts and reviewing documents, while AI-driven workflows address complicated tasks that arise repeatedly and aim to reduce the lawyer time they consume.
Evaluation and Pilot Outcomes
Spencer West chose the platform after both the pilot and its broader market review. Its decision rested on the range of work Harvey can support, research adapted to particular jurisdictions, assistance for a global practice, and security and governance designed specifically for the platform. Those criteria bear directly on the deployment’s international scope, linking research to the jurisdiction in which work is performed and placing support and governance alongside feature breadth in the adoption decision.
Pilot participants among Spencer West’s partners said Harvey helped them give more attention to strategic, high-value work. Peter Reeve, Harvey’s UK country leader, said partners spent less time on labour-intensive tasks during the trial and directed more attention to advising clients strategically and addressing their needs. That is the operating change the firmwide deployment is intended to reproduce: less effort absorbed by repeatable work and more available for counselling clients.
Spencer West’s Partner-Led Model
Spencer West’s structure helps explain why the adoption is framed around lawyers’ independence as well as common infrastructure. The firm characterizes itself as collaborative and entrepreneurial, with experienced lawyers contributing industry knowledge and advice grounded in clients’ commercial concerns. Partners can develop independent practices but still draw on shared infrastructure, colleagues’ expertise and the firm’s international footprint. A shared AI platform adds common research and drafting tools within that model.
AI’s Role in the Firm’s Growth
Simeon Spencer, Spencer West’s senior partner and co-founder, said the firm sees AI’s potential as much broader than efficiency. The technology is intended to build on its existing strengths and respond to evolving client needs. Its expected contribution is to help lawyers strengthen relationships with clients, anticipate new challenges and use their expertise across more of the business issues clients face internationally. That rationale makes the rollout part of the firm’s plans to expand its capabilities and international reach, rather than solely a drive to complete existing tasks faster.
Reeve said the combination of an entrepreneurial structure and experienced lawyers with a commercial outlook gives Spencer West a solid foundation for integrating AI. Harvey is also intended to help the firm serve clients across jurisdictions, widen the scope of its work and advance its international plans. Moving from a pilot to an international rollout makes the reported change in lawyers’ focus the central issue: whether streamlining recurring work can create more capacity for commercial decision-making, strategic counselling and client relationships across a geographically dispersed, partner-led firm.
