Ottawa-based Solink announced on October 29, 2026, that it has raised more than $100 million in new funding led by Vertu Capital, with material participation from existing investor Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives and participation from new investors Golub Growth and Comcast Ventures.

Solink said the investment will accelerate its expansion into AI Vision Intelligence, bringing AI-powered insights to businesses’ physical operations, and will fund what the company described as an aggressive AI roadmap while accelerating growth through strategic opportunities and maintaining service standards for customers. The company said it believes AI Vision Intelligence will define the next trillion-dollar software category.

“We’re entering a watershed moment for how physical businesses operate, as AI Vision Intelligence brings the richness and immediacy of digital data into the physical world,” said Mike Matta, co-founder and CEO of Solink. Matta said the funding will help businesses reduce loss, improve performance, and uncover new revenue opportunities using the cameras they already have, across functions spanning readiness and safety to merchandising and operations.

Platform and Reported Scale

Solink’s platform turns existing security cameras into real-time sources of business intelligence, converting video into what the company describes as actionable data across retail locations, restaurants, warehouses, and other physical environments. According to the announcement, the platform is designed to proactively surface what matters to drive revenue, reduce loss, and improve safety. Solink reports that more than 35,000 customer locations in 65 countries use the platform, with 500,000 cameras under management.

A Solink page presenting the round lists use cases that include eliminating internal shrink, improving service speed and quality, optimizing store layouts and displays, and deterring theft and break-ins. The page also publishes named customer outcome statements. Amy Hine, vice president of operations excellence at Take 5 Oil Change, reported a 78% decrease in drive-offs and a 28% increase in average ticket value. Brad La Cross, senior asset protection manager at Jack in the Box, said his team uses existing technology to reduce inventory loss and food waste. Adam Stern, director of loss prevention and risk management at PGA TOUR Superstore, said visibility into customer service is allowing the retailer to put policies in place based on that data.

Investors in the Round

Vertu Capital is described in the announcement as a private equity firm that invests in enterprise software and AI-driven technology companies, with offices in Toronto and Montreal. “AI vision intelligence represents one of the most significant opportunities in software today,” said Eric Kafka, a partner at Vertu Capital. Kafka said Solink has demonstrated the foresight and execution required to define the emerging category and has built a trusted platform that helps businesses unlock operational value from infrastructure they already have.

Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives participated as an existing investor, and the announcement said the firm’s confidence in Solink’s execution, customer momentum, and market position drove its decision to reinvest. Mike Reilly, a managing director within Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, said Solink has consistently demonstrated its ability to execute while expanding its market opportunity since the firm’s initial investment. Reilly said strong customer adoption and an ambitious product vision made participating in the round a natural decision, adding that the firm believes Solink is well positioned to lead in the new era of AI vision intelligence.

Per the announcement, Goldman Sachs holds approximately $4.0 trillion in assets under supervision globally as of June 30, 2026, and its alternatives investing business oversees more than $706 billion in assets across strategies including private equity, growth equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, infrastructure, sustainability, and hedge funds. Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives has invested more than $19 billion in companies since 2003, according to the announcement.

Prior Funding

The financing follows Solink’s $60 million Series C round, announced on July 25, 2023, which was led by the growth equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management with participation from existing investors OMERS Ventures and BDC IT Ventures. Solink said at the time that the Goldman Sachs investment came from the firm’s recently launched $5.2 billion growth equity fund.

In the 2023 announcement, Solink reported more than 18,000 customer locations across 15 countries and named Tim Hortons, The Container Store, and PGA TOUR Superstore among customers that also spanned financial services, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing and logistics, property management, and education. The company described its video management system as pairing data from more than 200 systems with existing security cameras to make footage searchable and accessible in the cloud, supporting forensic security review and real-time active monitoring. The 2023 release said customers could manage after-hour alarm systems with video verification, monitor unauthorized access into buildings, and manage speed of service through a web or mobile app. Matta said then that the Series C would expand Solink’s global coverage and fund investment in new AI-native products.
