Apple Introduces HomeView, a Smart Display Built Around Siri AI

Apple introduced Apple HomeView on October 13, 2026, a smart display with a 7-inch Liquid Retina screen powered by Apple Intelligence with Siri AI. Pre-orders opened the same day at $299 (U.S.), with availability beginning November 13, 2026.
Pre-orders cover both the tabletop and wall-mounted models in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the UK, and the U.S. through apple.com/store and the Apple Store app. Customers in Singapore can pre-order starting October 15, 2026 at 9 a.m. SGT, and customers in South Africa can pre-order through Apple Authorized Resellers, with availability in all launch markets on November 13, 2026. HomeView is not available for sale in the European Union because Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU; Apple said it is working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward.
Design and Hardware
The tabletop model pairs the 7-inch Liquid Retina display with a domed aluminum speaker base joined by a stainless steel tilt hinge, and comes in silver, starlight, rose pink, and space gray with a color-matched USB-C cable. The screen includes True Tone and automatic brightness ranging from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits, and the interface adjusts the level of detail it shows based on how far away the viewer is. According to Apple’s product page, the unit carries a 12MP Center Stage camera, four beamforming microphones, and the A18 chip.
A wall-mounted version in space gray and silver offers the same display and feature set and attaches with three purpose-built Schneider Home mounts. The Power Mount USB-C Wall Connector starts at $59.95 (U.S.) and the Power Mount AC Wired at $79.95 (U.S.), both orderable from October 13, 2026; the Power Mount PoE Wired is planned for early 2027 at $129.95 (U.S.). Self-installation and professional installation options are available.
Siri AI and Multiuser Personalization
Apple describes Siri AI as an entirely new version of Siri, powered by the next generation of Apple Intelligence, with broad world knowledge, personal context understanding, and onscreen awareness. When paired with an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad, Siri AI can draw on personal context from apps such as Messages and Calendar and take action across apps, and conversations begun on HomeView continue in the Siri app, which uses iCloud to sync history across a user’s iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro. Greg Joswiak, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said the device is designed to be shared by everyone in the home while feeling completely personal to each user.
HomeView recognizes up to six people by face and gives each a personalized Home Screen with their own apps and widgets, while shared photo albums and music stay available to the whole household. Apple said guests without an Apple Account can still control smart home accessories, check the weather, set timers, and play music without accessing anyone’s personal information.
The company also stated limits at launch. Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2 and works in English across the launch countries, with Canadian French-language support to follow through a free software update. Certain Apple Intelligence features that rely on server-side models carry daily usage limits, and Apple said expanded access to those features will be offered for a fee in the future.
Entertainment, Communication, and Smart Home Control
The acoustic system combines two custom full-range drivers in the display with a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in the base, and Apple said computational audio driven by Apple silicon and real-time sensors continuously optimizes loudness and bass response. The system supports Spatial Audio, multiroom audio with HomePod and AirPlay-compatible speakers, and Handoff, which moves playback from an iPhone to HomeView when the phone is placed in front of the display. Customizable faces include a Photos face with Portrait-style depth effects, a Flow face that responds to physical presence and movement, and Snoopy animations reflecting the time of day, weather, sporting events, and holidays.
For communication, HomeView supports FaceTime with Center Stage, Intercom broadcasts to other HomeView and HomePod speakers and personal devices, Messages answered by voice or onscreen keyboard, recipe conversion with hands-free timer control, Find My, and Live Activities. As a smart home dashboard, a Home Modular face offers access to favorite accessories and a Home Camera face can livestream up to nine video feeds at once. With a supported iCloud+ subscription, Apple said HomeView works with compatible cameras to deliver end-to-end encrypted recognition of people, familiar faces, pets, packages, and vehicles, produces video descriptions for HomeKit Secure Video footage, and detects the sound of smoke or carbon monoxide alarms with alerts sent to iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch.
Privacy and Materials
Apple said Secure Exclaves in the A18 chip process camera and microphone data in compartmentalized runtimes that the HomeView software, apps, the user, and Apple itself cannot access. Personal content in apps such as Messages and Calendar surfaces only when the enrolled user is recognized by face and their paired iPhone or iPad is present and recently unlocked, and Siri requests use on-device processing or Private Cloud Compute, which Apple said does not store data or make it accessible to Apple.
On materials, Apple stated that HomeView uses 100 percent recycled aluminum in the enclosure bases, 100 percent recycled gold plating and tin solder in all Apple-designed printed circuit boards, and 100 percent recycled rare earth elements in all magnets, with 100 percent fiber-based paper packaging, as part of its plan to be carbon neutral across its entire footprint by 2030.
Apple Home Collection Accessories
Also on October 13, 2026, Apple announced Apple Home Collection, a lineup of smart cameras, thermostats, temperature sensors, a video doorbell, and a door lock designed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric, with availability beginning in December 2026 and select accessories following in early 2027. “Apple Home Collection makes it easy to choose smart home accessories with confidence,” said Matthew Costello, Apple’s vice president of Hardware Engineering, in Apple’s announcement.
Stated starting prices include the LG Video Doorbell Wired at $249.95 (U.S.), the LG Smart Deadbolt Lock at $349.95 (U.S.), and the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat at $199.95 (U.S.). Apple said Home app data for each accessory is end-to-end encrypted so that LG Electronics, Schneider Electric, and Apple cannot read it, and Apple Retail is offering third-party installation from ADT in the U.S. for an additional charge starting in fall 2026. HomeView works with Apple Home Collection as well as other Works with Apple Home and Matter accessories.
