Cisco Unveils Claude Managed Agents for Webex, Dialog, and RoomOS 27

Cisco introduced a set of agentic collaboration products at WebexOne 2026 in Austin, Texas, on October 7, 2026, spanning the Webex suite, meeting-room devices, and its customer experience portfolio, including Claude Managed Agents in Webex, the RoomOS 27 device operating system, and Dialog, an agentic harness for the Webex AI Agent platform.
The announcement addresses what Cisco describes as three connected dimensions of work for the AI era: how people work, how the workplace adapts, and how businesses engage with customers. Cisco said it is bringing conversations, physical workspaces, and customer touchpoints together into a single shared context, an approach it frames as moving beyond reactive chatbots toward digital teammates that participate in complex work.
“The next era of work isn’t about bolting chatbots onto yesterday’s tools,” said Jeetu Patel, Cisco’s president and chief product officer. “It’s about AI agents working alongside people and teams, being deeply embedded in their workspaces, and collaborating on a secure, trusted foundation. When people and agents share the same context, work keeps moving and every customer relationship gets stronger.”
AI Agents Inside Webex
Cisco said Claude Managed Agents will soon let teams move from shared team context to analysis, recommendations, and coordinated follow-up actions across approved agents, all without leaving Webex. Teams can also invite collaborative AI agents directly into spaces, meetings, and calls to execute multi-step work across Webex and third-party applications. In Cisco’s example, a team member @mentions an analytics agent in a Webex space to pull usage statistics, then asks a presentation agent to update a PowerPoint deck with those numbers.
A Webex Suite Model Context Protocol integration brings Webex context directly into OpenAI’s dots, and Cisco said dots will in the future be available within Webex as an always-on personal agent. Cisco also said it brings identity, security, governance, and visibility together so organizations can control what AI can access, what it can do, and how it acts.
Snorre Kjesbu, Cisco’s senior vice president and general manager of collaboration, described the new AI-first Webex experience in a post titled The Next Chapter of Connected Intelligence. He wrote that a personalized view helps employees get ready for upcoming meetings and calls and organize priorities, while agents participating in Webex spaces, calls, and meetings can help teams prepare for conversations, handle scheduling, take notes, translate, and coach. New Personal Agents for Webex Calling extend that model to the phone: when a user is busy, an agent can answer the call, identify the caller’s purpose and urgency, and help with the next step, such as scheduling a follow-up or sending a message. Kjesbu also pointed to an expanding Model Context Protocol ecosystem and a Bring Your Ecosystem approach that lets organizations connect Webex with the AI models, skills, and agents they choose.
Intelligent Workplaces and Devices
Intelligent Workplace Experiences unify secure networking, collaboration devices, digital experience assurance, and physical spaces into a single architecture managed through Cisco Cloud Control. Workplace Designer extends Cisco’s visual planning from individual rooms to entire workplaces and can, for example, generate a complete technology blueprint for a site starting from its street address. Experience Metrics correlates network and device assurance with floor plans, Wi-Fi coverage, and occupancy so IT teams can prioritize issues based on business impact, while Workplace Insights in Cisco Cloud Control compares booked spaces against real-world occupancy across locations and floors.
RoomOS 27, the operating system for Cisco Collaboration Devices, will be available in November 2026. Through a new partnership with Google, Cisco devices gain fully featured, native Google Meet support, joining Webex, Microsoft Teams, and Zoom, and Cisco said the addition makes its devices the most open collaboration hardware on the market. The company said the Cisco AI Assistant on Collaboration Devices can now engage in 32 languages; telling it a room is too warm, for example, automatically adjusts the temperature and lowers the blinds. RoomOS 27 also adds Workspace Advisor, Smart Room Assurance, Divisible Rooms, and Splunk and agent integrations.
Kjesbu’s post adds that RoomOS 27 audio intelligence uses an enhanced director agent to focus on the voices that matter, along with contextual noise removal, powered by RoomOS and an NVIDIA deep learning accelerator built into the latest devices. The new Cisco Ceiling Speaker Pro completes the company’s audio-over-IP architecture alongside its video devices, cameras, and ceiling microphones, using AI to adapt audio across a space and adaptive voice lift so quieter voices carry naturally. It deploys over a single Ethernet cable with centralized management.
For IT operations, Collaboration in Cisco Cloud Control connects collaboration, networking, and security in a single operational environment, and its AI Canvas feature combines device and workspace intelligence with insights from ThousandEyes and Meraki. Kjesbu called the combination AgenticOps applied to collaboration. Cisco is also adding AI agents for Collaboration that connect operational context, business systems, and actions, and Cloud Intelligence for Cisco Unified Communications Manager extends cloud-powered capabilities to organizations running existing calling infrastructure.
Dialog and Customer Experience Availability
Dialog, the agentic harness for the Webex AI Agent platform, carries four capabilities in Cisco’s description: long-horizon execution, in which agents continue working toward the customer’s outcome after a conversation ends by coordinating across people, other agents, and backend systems; persistent relationship context that maintains one continuous understanding of the customer by unifying customer history with enterprise data across channels and time; self-learning with every interaction while adhering to enterprise policy; and rapid onboarding, in which an agent is onboarded like a new teammate by indexing the organization’s existing handbooks, knowledge bases, and procedures. Webex AI Agents operate within active safety guardrails from Cisco AI Defense, with live telemetry and operational observability from Splunk.
Vinod Muthukrishnan, Cisco’s vice president and general manager of Webex Customer Experience, wrote in a companion post on the customer experience portfolio that Dialog also acts as a shared operating layer for agents ranging from AI Concierge and AI Receptionist to third-party conversational experiences, with beta availability anticipated in the first quarter of calendar 2027. He listed further milestones: AI Agent 360 is being expanded with Agent Observability with Splunk, planned for general availability in December 2026; Agent-to-Agent protocol support is planned for December 2026; and the Webex Contact Center MCP Server is in beta with general availability planned for October 2026.
A Microsoft SharePoint integration for Webex AI Agent is planned for general availability in November 2026, and pre-built AI Agent templates for patient authentication and appointment confirmation, cancellation, and rescheduling, with integrations for electronic health record systems such as Epic, are generally available. Muthukrishnan said Cisco is deepening its collaboration with NVIDIA on speech recognition using NVIDIA Nemotron speech models, including Parakeet for multilingual automatic speech recognition, and that early access to Amazon Nova 2.5 Sonic, a speech-to-speech model for real-time voice agents, is planned for December 2026.
The Webex Contact Center Bring-Your-Own Virtual Agent ecosystem is adding connections for voice agents built with NVIDIA Nemotron, planned for general availability in November 2026, and a native integration with Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise for Customer Experience, planned for the fourth quarter of calendar 2026. For on-premises contact centers, Webex AI Agent is now generally available for Contact Center Enterprise, with Voice expansion to Contact Center Express planned for October 2026, and Universal Harness On-Premises, a single integration layer unifying APIs, SDKs, and authentication so enterprises can host third-party AI models locally, is anticipated in the first quarter of calendar 2027. Muthukrishnan noted that many of the products and features remain in development and that their release timelines are subject to change.
