S&P Global Expands ChatIQ AI Across Capital IQ Pro Research Workflows

S&P Global on October 6, 2026 announced the latest updates to S&P Capital IQ Pro, led by an expanded ChatIQ conversational AI experience, new AI tools for spreadsheet modeling, presentations and portfolio analysis, and extended analytics across valuation, private markets, fixed income and credit.
Expanded ChatIQ Experience
S&P Global said the enhanced ChatIQ is built to let financial professionals ask natural-language questions and quickly reach the company’s data and insights in one place. Within the assistant, multi-source analysis, screening and charting now sit in a single conversational experience. Questions can span company, market, credit and economic data as well as financial documents, news and research. The company said the design is meant to cut the time users spend moving between tools so that more of it goes toward analyzing reliable information.
“S&P Global continues to evolve around the ways clients research, analyze and collaborate,” said Whit McGraw, Head of Platforms at S&P Global Market Intelligence. “With the expanded ChatIQ experience, we are making AI a more natural part of the Capital IQ Pro workflow by combining conversational access with the depth, quality and transparency clients expect from S&P Global.”
New AI Workflow Tools
Beyond the conversational layer, the release pairs AI-powered research, modeling and presentation tools with expanded data and analytics for valuation, private markets, fixed income, credit and broader market use cases.
ChatIQ Spreadsheets introduces an AI-powered Excel modeling assistant for model building, review and analysis, working with refreshable Capital IQ Pro formulas. ChatIQ Presentations, now available in Labs, generates data-driven PowerPoint slides from Capital IQ Pro data, according to the company.
Portfolio Insights, now in beta, applies AI to identify drivers of portfolio return and connect performance with relevant market developments, news, events and earnings context, S&P Global said.
Valuation, Fixed Income, Credit and Data Updates
For valuation work, the update introduces Discounted Cash Flow analysis, customizable Total Enterprise Value calculations and point-in-time trading comparables, along with improved export capabilities. S&P Global said the additions support more flexible company valuation workflows.
In private markets, a new custom benchmarking tool from With Intelligence lets users build tailored private market benchmarks and compare fund performance using key metrics, the company said.
Fixed income additions integrate Markit’s Global Sector Curves and add a Rate Profile page, which S&P Global described as providing deeper visibility into global bond markets, pricing trends and tenor-level analysis.
On the credit side, the update delivers redesigned RatingsDirect corporate and sector profiles, expanded insurance analytics and Credit Memo Builder enhancements, which the company said improve access to relevant credit information, source transparency and consistency across the credit review process. Data coverage additions span banking, energy, insurance, macroeconomic data, private companies, sustainability, news and alerts.
The company framed the release as part of S&P Global Market Intelligence’s broader strategy for Capital IQ Pro, which it said combines reliable data, AI-powered tools and connected experiences to support financial professionals across research, analysis and decision-making and to help them uncover value across global markets.
Prior Development of ChatIQ
ChatIQ debuted on November 12, 2024, when S&P Global introduced the GenAI-powered assistant alongside Document Intelligence, a document analysis experience for global company filings, earnings call transcripts, investor presentations, news and research. The assistant was developed in partnership with Kensho, S&P Global’s AI innovation hub.
At launch, S&P Global said ChatIQ uses large language models and is trained on the corpus of S&P Capital IQ Pro tabular and textual data. The company described it as tailored to banking and buyside analysts, supporting company and competitor landscape analysis, industry analysis, market monitoring, financial analysis and strategy research, with full traceability to source data provided in answers.
An October 22, 2025 release added Document Intelligence 2.0 and Multi-Document ChatIQ, a feature for simultaneous work across multiple documents from different sources, including filings, transcripts, investor presentations, news and research spanning multiple companies or industries. That release also added Earnings IQ Alerts for immediate notifications on earnings metrics and summaries upon public announcement, Natural Language Screening that converts natural-language queries into screening criteria, and Visible Alpha Estimates upgrades with expanded earnings data and customizable consensus views, according to the company.
S&P Capital IQ Pro is operated within S&P Global’s Market Intelligence division, offering deep financial data, proprietary research and analysis on global markets, companies and industries. S&P Global describes it as the company’s flagship data and analytics platform, one that compresses more than 135 billion raw data points a year into actionable intelligence.
