Trimble on September 28, 2026 used the opening keynote of its 2026 Trimble Insight Conference in San Diego to unveil the Trimble NEXT Showcase, a suite of nearly 20 new features and enhancements bringing autonomous AI and agent-ready capabilities to its transportation software portfolio.

CEO Rob Painter and Transportation & Logistics sector VP Michael Kornhauser presented the showcase as part of a strategy to help fleets pair operational experience with AI execution to adapt to market volatility and reclaim lost time. “Intelligent technology is only as powerful as the network supporting it, which is why we’re pairing autonomous AI with operational context so our customers have the tools to keep moving forward,” Painter said in Trimble’s announcement. Kornhauser said the company’s mission is to bring innovation directly into customer workflows without forcing disruptive platform overhauls, framing the releases as a value equation that turns human context and AI into value for customers.

Named solutions in the showcase include CoPilot Driver Assistant, Route Orchestration for PC*Miler, Appian Fleet Assistant with autonomous planning, an upgraded TMT AI Invoice Scanning, Dock & Yard Advanced Trailer Orchestration, agent-ready modernizations of the company’s carrier TMS platforms and Trimble Arc Agent.

Voice AI and Autonomous Route Planning

The showcase’s mapping and navigation updates target how drivers and fleets plan and run routes. CoPilot Driver Assistant provides hands-free, natural-language in-cab navigation that drivers can use to find fuel and parking and to manage hours-of-service limits, according to Trimble. Route Orchestration for PC*Miler unifies planning, execution, visibility and settlement into a single workflow, balancing safety, tolls and delivery constraints across the full route lifecycle. For private fleets, Trimble said Appian Fleet Assistant with autonomous planning acts as a virtual dispatcher, capturing a fleet’s operational rules to generate multi-stop route plans in seconds.

Maintenance Automation and Trailer Orchestration

The upgraded TMT Fleet Maintenance AI Invoice Scanning uses advanced vision models to batch-process up to 100 vendor PDF invoices at once and maps repairs to VMRS codes. Trimble reported that the AI scanning has saved more than 136,000 minutes across 19,500 invoices compared with manual data entry, and said the automation lets shop teams eliminate repetitive paperwork, get trucks off shop bays and return assets to the road faster.

Trimble’s Dock & Yard offering added Advanced Trailer Orchestration, which connects appointment planning, live arrival visibility and carrier collaboration into a single shared record for every trailer moving from gate to dock. Features including Time Slot Management and a Carrier Yard Visit Portal automatically sync shifting ETAs, which Trimble said allows facility teams to reduce detention costs and act before disruptions cause delays.

Agent-Ready TMS Platforms and Arc Agent

Trimble announced browser-based, AI agent-ready modernizations to its core carrier transportation management systems: TMW.Suite, TruckMate, Innovative and Fuel Dispatch. According to the company, the cloud-hosted architectures preserve decades of operational logic while providing cleaner, browser-accessible interfaces that enable collaboration between people and AI agents. The keynote also highlighted Trimble TMS, the company’s native cloud solution built for growing North American full-truckload carriers and small and medium enterprises.

The same agent strategy extends to Trimble Arc Agent, the AI digital colleague the company first launched in August 2026. Arc Agent automates repetitive, multi-step operational tasks through one conversational interface, with skills covering Order Entry, Contract Intake and the new Intelligent RFQ Builder, plus custom skill-building for processes such as payroll reconciliation. Fleet teams keep full control of the work with final approval, Trimble said.

Availability Terms and Conference Details

The NEXT Showcase innovations are available for customer preview and deployment at Trimble Insight 2026 under stated version requirements. CoPilot Driver Assistant requires CoPilot v11.4, and Route Orchestration deploys on the latest versions of PC*Miler and CoPilot. The Appian autonomous planning capability is a licensed add-on for existing Appian Fleet Assistant customers, TMT AI Invoice Scanning is supported on v2023.2 and higher, and Advanced Trailer Orchestration is available to shipper and 3PL customers.

The agent-ready modernizations require minimum software versions of TMW.Suite v2024.5, TruckMate v26.3, Innovative v2025.3 and Fuel Dispatch v2024.5. Trimble noted that products, solutions and features presented at the showcase are subject to change and may be subject to additional fees or terms.

Arc Agent is available to current and prospective Trimble customers around the world on a single-tier subscription that includes 10 hours of agent working time, with additional overage hours available for purchase and automatic access to all new skills and features as they launch.

The 2026 Trimble Insight Conference began September 27, 2026 and runs through September 29, 2026 at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina, with more than 200 educational sessions covering AI, TMS innovation and freight market trends. According to Trimble’s conference site, the event connects more than 1,200 carriers, shippers, 3PLs and technology providers in the Insight Pavilion, and the 2026 program adds a Leadership Series that puts industry executives on the main stage immediately after the opening keynote for the first time.
