HCLSoftware Plans Robotiq.ai Acquisition to Add RPA to HCL UnO Agentic

HCLSoftware, the software business division of HCLTech, announced on September 28, 2026 its intent to acquire Robotiq.ai, a provider of an enterprise robotic process automation platform based in Zagreb, Croatia. The announcement, datelined Santa Clara, California, said the acquisition adds enterprise RPA capabilities to HCL UnO Agentic, the company’s agentic orchestration product.
Rationale and Executive Statements
HCLSoftware said it is seeing growing enterprise demand for AI systems that not only reason but execute work reliably across complex business environments. The company said Robotiq.ai’s RPA capabilities allow AI-driven workflows to automate tasks in applications where APIs are unavailable or insufficient, extending HCL UnO Agentic’s orchestration capabilities from decision-making to execution.
According to the announcement, Robotiq.ai’s platform is used in large banks, insurance groups and telecom providers, and is built with ISO-certified security, audit logs and flexible deployment options.
“Enterprises are looking beyond AI experimentation toward production-scale automation that is secure, governed and reliable,” said Kalyan Kumar, President of HCLSoftware. He said Robotiq.ai strengthens HCL UnO Agentic by combining orchestration with enterprise-grade execution, helping customers confidently deploy and scale agentic AI across their operations.
Robotiq.ai CEO and Co-founder Darko Jovišić said his company was built on a belief that automation should be useful, fast to deploy and reliable in production. He said joining HCLSoftware gives Robotiq.ai’s technology enterprise reach, scale and platform, and that customers gain automation that extends beyond the individual task to become part of an orchestrated, governed process across the entire enterprise.
Prior Partnership Between the Companies
The acquisition follows an existing relationship between the two companies. In a blog post published April 21, 2025, HCLSoftware documented a strategic partnership with Robotiq.ai that combined the process and agentic orchestration capabilities of HCL UnO with Robotiq.ai’s RPA platform.
The post describes HCL UnO as orchestrating automation at enterprise scale by coordinating intelligent agents, AI systems and business logic in real time, while Robotiq.ai addresses work still performed at the user-interface level in browser-based applications, desktop tools and legacy front ends. It presents the combination as moving enterprises beyond task-level automation toward coordinated, resilient operations, with UnO providing the architectural foundation for autonomous, policy-driven operations across hybrid environments.
In the post, HCLSoftware attributed a 70% reduction in process-execution errors to UnO’s orchestration, observability and enterprise-wide governance, and credited Robotiq.ai’s task automation with 100% business continuity and an 85% increase in efficiency. The post also states that UnO’s observability keeps every step in a workflow, including steps handled by Robotiq.ai bots, tracked, auditable and compliant with enterprise policies.
Robotiq.ai Platform and Customers
On its official website, Robotiq.ai describes its product as an enterprise automation and digital workforce platform, and says it is trusted by more than 150 enterprises around the world. The company says it orchestrates RPA, integrations and AI agents into stable, monitored workflows that run inside real enterprise systems, and that its platform works with both legacy systems and modern ERPs and CRMs. It says it combines RPA with Workato’s integration platform to connect systems, handle exceptions and provide full visibility from one control layer.
Robotiq.ai says its platform is built for enterprise environments with role-based access control, audit logs and monitoring, and secure integrations, and that customer data remains within the customer’s own infrastructure under customer policies. Listed use cases include invoice automation, order reconciliation and customer onboarding, and the company’s FAQ says most teams see their first production automation in weeks.
The FAQ also states that the platform automates repetitive back-office processes such as data entry, reporting, ERP operations, reconciliations and legacy-system interactions, and that business teams can define intent while IT retains full control and governance.
The company publishes customer testimonials from Vesna Rendulić, CFO of Orbico, who said the implementation resolved a large number of daily repetitive transactions and freed employees for more demanding tasks, and from Nikola Milović, Head of Operations and Digital Transformation at Hipotekarna Bank, who said the solution fully automated an outdated earlier process and that the implementation serves as a roadmap for future improvements to similar processes in the bank.
The acquisition is expected to close in November 2026.
