SAIC ROEWE Unveils JIAYUE 07 SUV With ByteDance Doubao AI Cockpit

SAIC ROEWE, a core intelligent-vehicle brand under SAIC Motor, officially unveiled the JIAYUE 07 on September 22, 2026, presenting the mass-production AI-native family SUV in a launch announcement as equipped with Doubao, the large language model developed by ByteDance’s Volcano Engine.

The same day, SAIC Motor presented the JIAYUE 07 at the 2026 World New Energy Vehicle Conference, which opened on September 22, 2026, alongside the MG 07 coupe and the new-generation Zhiji LS6 SUV, according to the company’s newsroom account of the event. SAIC characterizes the JIAYUE 07 as the world’s first AI-native car and says it carries industry-first end-to-end intelligent interactive and travel execution capabilities, moving in-vehicle artificial intelligence from screen-based interaction toward embodied automotive AI.

Doubao Cockpit Assistant and CPP Architecture

According to SAIC, the JIAYUE 07 is built on the CPP AI-native technology architecture and is the industry’s first production model equipped with the Doubao Cockpit Assistant, co-developed by SAIC ROEWE and Volcano Engine. The company says the assistant uses OMS and DMS cameras together with four-zone real-time independent voice recognition to perceive occupant state, speech, and actions, and that it sustains continuous dialogue while applying causal reasoning that updates its judgments from context.

SAIC says the vehicle exposes more than 2,000 SOA service interfaces across the car, allowing the assistant to schedule vehicle hardware at an atomic level and convert complex natural-language intent into concrete tasks across navigation, driving, cabin entertainment, and other controls, executing from a single sentence to multiple actions. The company also says the model draws real-time information from the internet through the Doubao large model and ByteDance’s broader ecosystem, linking search, services, and in-vehicle capabilities into one chain, and it describes the JIAYUE 07 as the industry’s first self-growing AI-native car, with cloud-based AI updating its knowledge and capabilities in real time.

ROEWE describes the integrated Doubao model as a full-scenario intelligent mobile agent rather than a system limited to simple dialogue and passive responses. In the brand’s account, the vehicle interprets vague, open-ended user intent and independently completes full-link travel services, including destination screening, route planning, and intelligent navigation, while synchronously adjusting cabin systems such as climate control, seat position, and ambient lighting.

The official JIAYUE 07 product page adds further cockpit details, including an in-car Doubao display that changes expressions with the conversation, multimodal emotion recognition, linkage with the Doubao smartphone app for phone-car integration, and a Meituan feature that handles restaurant reservations from the vehicle.

Momenta Driver Assistance

The SUV pairs the Doubao model with the Momenta intelligent driving system, which ROEWE says provides autonomous whole-journey driving assistance and automatic parking as part of what it calls one-stop intelligent travel from the moment a user states an intent to the vehicle’s execution of it. The driver-assistance solution is based on the Momenta R7 world model.

ROEWE’s product page lists LiDAR and high-definition cameras among the sensing hardware and describes adaptation to more than 300 parking-space types, including custom parking, dead-end streets, path tracking, remote park-in, and one-touch curbside parking. The page also describes predictive handling of situations such as opening doors, pedestrians emerging from blind spots, and falling objects ahead, as well as rush-hour mixed traffic, roundabouts, complex multi-branch intersections, and narrow roads.

Extended-Range Powertrain, Pricing, and Cabin

ROEWE positions the JIAYUE 07 as a 150,000-yuan-level high-end five-seat intelligent SUV, and the product page lists a pre-sale price starting at RMB 137,800. The extended-range SUV offers CLTC pure-electric ranges of 220km and 320km depending on version and a combined range of up to 1480km.

The SUV’s range-extender engine uses a 16:1 compression ratio with a stated fuel-to-electric conversion rate of 3.54 kWh per liter, paired with a 44.2 kWh battery and an AI energy management system that the page says applies three-layer management based on environment estimation, road-condition prediction, driving-habit assessment, and navigation recognition.

The vehicle measures 4900mm long, 1910mm wide, and 1753mm high on a 2908mm wheelbase, with ROEWE citing an 88.8% interior space utilization rate. The design was led by automotive designer Joseph Caban, and the brand points to SAIC Motor’s 70-year manufacturing history behind the vehicle. Listed cabin features include dual zero-gravity seats, a 143-degree rear recline, a 2.3-meter flat bed with the rear seats folded, 16-point massage front seats, and a heating-and-cooling refrigerator.

Earlier Debut and Order Milestones

The unveiling follows earlier documented milestones for the model. In a September 10, 2026 report, SAIC Motor said the JIAYUE 07 made its debut on August 13, 2026, with blind pre-orders opening the same day and blind orders exceeding 11,000 within seven days. That report listed equipment including dual zero-gravity seats, a rapid ice-making refrigerator, a 2.5K rear ceiling screen, a panoramic audio system, and the Momenta R7 driver-assistance solution, and said the model brings features typical of 250,000-yuan-level family vehicles into the 150,000-yuan mainstream price band. The JIAYUE 07 is the first mass-production model of ROEWE’s new Jiayue series.

In the unveiling announcement, the brand contrasts the production JIAYUE 07 with overseas intelligent-driving solutions it says remain in the conceptual stage, framing the SUV as a mature, mass-produced embodied-AI vehicle already in road operation.
