Retail media optimization platform Quartile announced on September 21, 2026 that it has become a technology partner supporting advertising in ChatGPT, giving participating advertisers access to ChatGPT Ads through Quartile’s existing tools and workflows.

In the release, datelined New York, Quartile, which describes itself as the world’s largest retail media optimization platform, said the partnership expands its AI-powered advertising capabilities into conversational discovery. The company said ChatGPT has more than 1 billion weekly active users and framed conversational AI as an environment where consumers increasingly discover products, evaluate options, and make purchasing decisions. Quartile said the arrangement gives brands another opportunity to reach consumers during moments of product discovery while drawing on the technology and expertise its clients already use across other advertising channels.

According to the release, ChatGPT Ads features clearly labeled ads that are visually distinct from ChatGPT’s responses, which are not influenced by ads. Quartile described the ads as intended to deliver relevant advertising during moments of active discovery while maintaining a user experience built around transparency and trust.

What the Technology Partner Role Covers

On its Quartile for ChatGPT Ads offering page, the company states that advertising in ChatGPT is still in its pilot stage and that Quartile manages a brand’s ChatGPT Ads strategy end-to-end, helping brands establish a presence during the pilot program.

Quartile says it organizes and prepares the product information needed for campaign activation, including imagery, titles, copy, and destination URLs, so brands can incorporate ChatGPT Ads into an existing media strategy. It also brings campaign and commerce data together to provide a clearer view of performance across the customer journey, from ad engagement and conversions to Amazon-attributed sales and Shopify sessions.

According to the offering page, a dedicated ChatGPT Ads team handles campaign setup, product feed integration, conversion tracking, targeting, budget decisions, and ongoing optimization, with no new internal team or platform expertise required from the brand. The page describes the ads as designed to fit into the ChatGPT experience while remaining separate from ChatGPT’s answers and clearly labeled as sponsored content.

Executive Statements and Company Scale

“AI is creating entirely new ways for consumers to discover products, but technology alone does not create a successful advertising strategy,” said Daniel Knijnik, CEO and Co-Founder of Quartile. He described the company’s “experts + AI” approach as combining the scale and speed of AI with the experience and judgment of advertising professionals, and called supporting advertising in ChatGPT another step in that evolution.

Knijnik also said the company’s goal is to help brands understand how to use advertising technology intelligently in addition to what it can do. “By bringing together data, AI, and a comprehensive view of their advertising strategy across channels, we can help our customers make smarter investment decisions and drive greater value from every dollar they spend,” he said.

Quartile states that it supports thousands of brands and manages billions of dollars in annual advertising spend across major commerce and digital advertising channels. The release also says the company’s technology and expertise have earned recognition from industry partners including Amazon Ads and Walmart Connect, as well as customer-feedback platforms such as G2 and Trustpilot.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT Ads Program

In a September 16, 2026, product post, OpenAI said it is testing Sponsored Agents, clearly labeled conversations with a business-sponsored agent that begin after a user clicks an ad in ChatGPT, with select advertisers in the United States; OpenAI said these conversations are distinct from ChatGPT’s independent answers. It also said it was rolling out AI tools that let advertisers create, update, and analyze campaigns with natural-language prompts in ChatGPT and receive suggested copy and imagery in Ads Manager, named HubSpot as its first CRM partner and Shopify as its first ecommerce partner for ChatGPT Ads, and said the ChatGPT Ads app for US-based Shopify merchants will become available internationally in markets where ChatGPT Ads are available starting September 23, 2026.
