Anthropic expanded Claude for Small Business on September 15, 2026, bringing the small-business plugin to 43 workflows and adding 27 new integrations with tools including Shopify, Salesforce, TikTok, Atlassian, Zoom, Xero, Gusto, Square, Stripe, and Zapier. The release arrives with a fall schedule of free in-person workshops, partner webinars, and community-run training.

New Workflows and How They Run

Claude for Small Business runs in Claude Cowork, the desktop app where Claude works directly with files and connected tools. Owners install the plugin, ask Claude to help get set up or run the /smb-onboard command, connect the tools they already use, and pick a task, and each workflow can be set to run on a chosen schedule. By default, every workflow starts in approval mode: Claude drafts and stages the work, then waits for the owner’s approval before anything sends, posts, or pays. Owners can let a workflow run on its own one workflow at a time and switch it back whenever they want.

Anthropic said the new workflows extend Claude from running the back office to growing the business. A weekly Monday brief assembles cash position, sales compared against the previous week, what moved in the pipeline, which invoices are overdue, and the three things that need the owner, and it works with all 37 partner connectors. Other workflows respond to inbound leads with 15 connectors, draft branded proposals priced from past jobs with 17 connectors, plan and stage marketing campaigns with 16 connectors, and close the books at month end with 14 connectors. Owners without connectors can upload spreadsheets or forward inquiries, and Claude builds the reports and drafts from those materials.

The plugin is available on every paid Claude plan, and Anthropic recommends the Team plan for businesses with more than one person. A step-by-step install guide and the full list of workflows and integrations are posted on Claude Academy.

Adoption Since May and Reported Customer Results

Anthropic launched Claude for Small Business in May 2026 as a set of connectors and ready-to-run workflows, and the company said it has since been installed more than 900,000 times. Original and continuing partners include Intuit QuickBooks, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva, Docusign, Google Workspace, and Microsoft 365. On the spring Claude SMB Tour, more than 1,000 owners in 10 cities told the company what they wanted Claude to take on next; Anthropic said about a third asked for help growing the business, such as generating leads, answering inbound inquiries, and writing proposals, and many wanted day-to-day reporting handled for them. The company said it built the new release around those requests.

The announcement also reported results from owners already using the plugin. Juanny Romero, founder and CEO of Mothership Coffee Roasters in Las Vegas, runs six cafés plus wholesale and catering operations from one consolidated view, and Anthropic reported that in-store margins rose to 22%, which Romero credits in part to tighter scheduling, ordering, and inventory reporting. At Bambi Baby, a family-owned baby stroller and car seat retailer, COO Josh Weiss, who is not a developer, used Claude to build a scan-to-wishlist lead capture and the follow-up behind it; Anthropic reported $60,000 in sales tied back to the tool in its first four days and, two weeks into a two-store pilot, 18% of online revenue newly attributed to in-person visits.

HireEffect, a Dallas firm that runs bookkeeping, payroll, and HR for small businesses, used Claude to isolate the exact 16 transactions behind a $13,000 discrepancy buried in two and a half years and tens of thousands of PayPal transactions, Anthropic reported, and a governed reporting dashboard it built across five systems turned a two-hour monthly task into ten seconds. KANE, a creative and growth agency in Princeton, New Jersey, built a Claude pipeline that scores fit from meeting notes, prices from past projects, drafts the proposal, and has the statement of work out for signature within minutes of a yes.

“We’ve taken an entire process that used to take us weeks and it’s done almost within a few minutes in a day, and even the clients recognize that,” KANE co-founder Michael Kazantzis said in the announcement.

Trust and Data Controls

Anthropic said half the owners it surveyed on the spring tour named data security as their biggest hesitation about using AI. Under the documented controls, every workflow starts in approval mode; some workflows stop short of the last step, such as Claude staging payroll in Gusto for the owner to submit; existing software permissions hold, so an employee who cannot see something in Intuit QuickBooks or Google Drive cannot see it through Claude; and by default Anthropic does not train on business data on Team and Enterprise plans.

Fall Tour, Trainer Program, and Webinars

The Claude SMB Tour is back for fall 2026 with partner Tenex, running free half-day workshops in Boston, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Memphis, Savannah, Bentonville, Tampa, and Raleigh. Anthropic said more than 150 organizations it trained as Approved Claude SMB Trainers will run over 750 workshops in their own communities, following dedicated Train the Trainer events hosted by Tenex and Anthropic in San Francisco and New York City during summer 2026.

A partner webinar series will run from late September through November 2026, with 14 technology partners each hosting a free live session on its connector that covers what the connector can do inside Claude, how data moves between the tool and Claude, and a workflow attendees run live before the session ends. The schedule begins with Notion on September 25, 2026, and closes with Atlassian on November 17, 2026, with RingCentral, Zoom, monday.com, Expensify, Apollo, HubSpot, Gusto, Zapier, Xero, Clay, TikTok, and Alignable hosting sessions in between. Anthropic said it will add more sessions in the coming weeks.

Partner Network and Community Programs

Anthropic said it has begun identifying SMB-focused consulting partners and system integrators in the Claude Partner Network, beginning with A.team, AnswerRocket, Bold Tech, Caylent, First Line Software, Grid Dynamics, LightCI, Loka, Praecipio, Rosetree Solutions, and The Agile Monkeys, and that it plans to add more.

The announcement also described community partnerships, which Anthropic said stem from its belief that AI adoption among small businesses could have significant public benefit through economic growth and employment; its Beneficial Deployments team works with organizations that support small business owners and entrepreneurs. Anthropic is partnering with Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses, which the announcement said has helped more than 19,000 entrepreneurs across the United States, on a new learning series on applied AI for small businesses. Anthropic is a founding partner of IncuVersity, a new program from The DO that aims to help 20,000 early-career entrepreneurs build businesses with Claude over the coming years, and it is partnering with Echoing Green as that organization incorporates Claude into new AI-focused programming for early-stage social entrepreneurs.
