Medallion Buys Credentials Verification Organization Andros

In an announcement datelined San Francisco, Medallion said on September 15, 2026 that it has acquired Andros, an NCQA-certified credentials verification organization, in a transaction the company says makes it the largest AI-native credentialing platform in the country. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
The company said the deal places more than a million providers across nearly 400 healthcare organizations and health plans on one credentialing platform. Bailey & Company served as the exclusive financial advisor to Andros.
The Companies’ Credentialing Operations
Medallion describes itself as the only AI-assisted credentialing and enrollment platform with expert oversight. The company said the acquisition advances its strategy of consolidating credentialing, enrollment, licensing, and provider data management on a single system for every organization that handles a provider record.
According to the announcement, Andros has credentialed providers for health plans, health systems, provider groups, and telehealth companies since 2013. On its website, Andros describes itself as a fully NCQA-certified credentials verification organization whose platform automates primary source verification with data-matching algorithms. The company says the system also issues alerts when required information is missing and flags issues that could block credentialing, such as malpractice, licensure, or sanctions problems. Where the platform cannot resolve discrepancies, trained credentialing professionals contact providers and facilities at least three times and run quality checks so that each credentialing report meets NCQA standards, the company says.
Andros says two out of three of its application processes require no provider input and take about 20 minutes to complete, with a data repository that autofills provider information from verified sources. The company says the process begins when it receives data from a client through an API, a batch upload, or a provider-filed application. After credentialing is complete, clients receive provider profiles covering specialty, languages, malpractice information, and credentialing status, delivered as PDF downloads, through a web portal, or through an API.
The company also offers state license verification for health plans checking provider licensure across multiple states, with audit-ready documentation and real-time tracking of verification status, as well as monitoring and network approval management services that include facilitating credentialing committee meetings and administration.
Andros reports that it verifies data from more than 8 million providers, performs 300,000 credentials annually, and has built more than 200 networks in all 50 states. It also cites more than 30 years of combined experience.
The company says its platform enables credentialing workflows up to 10 times faster than industry averages, carries the strictest level of NCQA certification available, and reduces errors and audit risk by applying those standards to every file. Andros says combining the platform’s speed with NCQA certification ensures credentialing meets the needs of health plans, providers, and patients. The company also says its services can deliver a return on investment of 300% or more compared with fully staffed internal teams using in-house data systems and manual workflows.
Integration Plans and Executive Statements
Under the integration plan set out in the announcement, Andros customers will gain access to Medallion over time. The capabilities named include automated primary source collection, AI agents that handle provider outreach and follow-up, real-time status tracking, and the credentialing specialists Medallion embeds alongside its automation.
“Over the past 13 years Andros has developed strong, trusted relationships with many of the top health plans in the country,” said Derek Lo, founder and CEO of Medallion, in the acquisition announcement. Lo said Medallion’s AI-native credentialing solution would build on the success Andros has already achieved.
Jake Hirschfeld, VP of Sales at Andros, said customers had pressed the company for 13 years to improve the speed and accuracy of credentialing and that it had done so in a category where, he said, most participants tolerate existing processes. He said joining Medallion allows Andros to carry that work into its next chapter for customers.
Medallion said it will continue to serve health plans, health systems, provider groups, digital health companies, and telehealth organizations, with work spanning credentialing, payer enrollment, licensing, and provider data management.
