Anthropic announced the beta release of Salesforce in Claude on September 15, 2026, a plugin built with Salesforce that brings a seller’s accounts, opportunities, and pipeline into Claude under their existing Salesforce permissions. Anthropic said the plugin includes 37 skills for the work account executives do daily, including account research, call prep, pipeline review, and CRM updates.

According to Anthropic, sellers often spend hours of their day on meeting prep or follow-up work from customer meetings, manually assembling information scattered across Salesforce, email, call recordings, and Slack, and the plugin does that administrative work and updates Salesforce once the seller approves. The plugin carries two connectors that let sellers begin once an admin connects Salesforce and they sign in. With the Salesforce connector, Claude can read Salesforce data and act on it: summarizing an account’s history, updating opportunities, logging calls, or creating follow-up tasks. The Slack connector covers deal-channel summaries and account-team threads that the skills can read and write. When sellers use the plugin for the first time, a setup skill identifies their tools and connectors and creates a Claude Artifact tailored to their role and book of business.

A Claude Help Center setup guide describes the plugin as built by Salesforce and lists the 37 sales skills as covering workflows such as renewal prep, QBR decks, pipeline coverage, and meeting follow-up.

Documented Sales Workflows

Anthropic said Claude delivers a personalized morning brief with the day’s meetings, deals closing soon, at-risk opportunities, and unread threads that need a reply. Once scheduled, the brief runs in the background and can be accessed anywhere with Claude, including on the Claude app. From the brief, a seller can tell Claude to push a close date, change a stage, or add a follow-up task, and Claude makes the update in Salesforce. The brief can also wrap the week and draft an update for the seller’s manager.

For call prep, Anthropic said Claude pulls from Salesforce, Slack, and email: open opportunities and where each stands, what the account team discussed during the week, unanswered threads, and questions still open from previous calls. If Claude finds stakeholders in those threads who are not yet in Salesforce, it adds them as contacts on the account.

Anthropic said that when a seller points Claude at an opportunity, Claude scores the deal against the team’s methodology, considering qualification gaps, stakeholders the seller has not met, and factors putting the close date at risk. Asked to keep going, Claude drafts the business case and a dated mutual close plan, fills in the qualification fields, and adds the missing stakeholders as contact roles, all saved to the opportunity once approved.

After each call, Claude turns the transcript or the seller’s notes into a follow-up email, a summary for the deal channel in Slack, and drafted opportunity updates such as next steps, stage, and close date for the seller to review, according to Anthropic.

For pipeline review, Anthropic said Claude builds an interactive dashboard showing coverage by stage, the deals most likely to slip and why, and drill-down by account. From the dashboard, a seller can tell Claude to move a close date or change a stage, and Claude updates the record in Salesforce. Dashboards can be shared with leadership or the team, Claude can draft the forecast narrative in the format leadership expects, and sales leaders can run the same views across the team.

Permissions, Setup, and Availability

Under the permissions model Anthropic describes, Salesforce remains the system of record: sellers sign in with their Salesforce credentials, Claude reads only what their permissions allow, and by default Claude asks the seller to approve each proposed change before it is written. Anthropic states that on Team and Enterprise plans it does not train its models on customer data by default. Admins connect Salesforce once for the organization and choose which groups get the plugin.

The Help Center guide states Salesforce in Claude is available in beta on all paid plans for organizations Salesforce approves through its beta sign-up, currently works in chat and Claude Cowork on web and desktop, and requires access to the latest Sales Cloud enterprise edition to be eligible for beta.

According to the guide, setup runs through admin consoles at both companies. Salesforce admins request access through AgentExchange and receive an acceptance email with setup instructions. A Claude admin with Primary Owner or Owner access then chooses an installation preference for each group: installed by default, available for install, or required. To activate the Salesforce MCP connector, a Salesforce admin turns on the Salesforce MCP server and creates an External Client App for Claude with the callback URL https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback, after which a Claude admin enters the app’s consumer key and consumer secret as the OAuth client ID and secret in Claude’s connector settings. Each member signs in to Salesforce with their own account the first time they use the plugin. Anthropic also said the Salesforce MCP is available to install directly through the marketplace.

Customer Deployments and the Claudeforce Partnership

Anthropic said customers GitLab, Siemens, and Legora have deployed Salesforce in Claude to their organizations and that 7,000 Salesforce sellers use it in their work.

Legora Chief Financial Officer David Eckstein said the company’s sellers turn live data into meeting briefings in seconds instead of hours, and that as the sales team grows, every new rep starts with a full picture of the law firms Legora serves. Salesforce President and Chief Revenue Officer Alexa Vignone said sellers can start the day with the pipeline review already done and the account history already there, with that time going back into customer conversations.

The beta follows Claudeforce, an expanded strategic partnership Salesforce and Anthropic announced on August 26, 2026, which launched with Salesforce in Claude available to select pilot customers. Salesforce said the plugin is made possible by AIforce, its trusted enterprise harness that brings business data and workflows to any agent through MCP servers, APIs, and CLI tools, and that the 37 prebuilt sales skills were built by Salesforce and Anthropic. Under the partnership, Salesforce said Claude serves as a reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine in Agentforce and as the default model for Slack, where it powers Slackbot, and that it will make Claude Code and Claude Enterprise available to all of its developers and knowledge workers. Salesforce also described itself as Anthropic’s preferred CRM.

When it announced Claudeforce, Salesforce said Salesforce in Claude was expected to launch in open beta in September 2026 and that additional prebuilt skills would begin launching in late 2026.
